Oxford Street Area Community Safety Survey

At the London Road Local Action Team meeting of July 2017, people living and/or working around Oxford Street raised issues of crime and antisocial behaviour taking place in the area, and particularly around the Oxford Court carpark.

The issues people raised included reported drug dealing and using, street fouling, disorderly and intimidating behaviour, flytipping and firelighting and graffiti, as well as a generally unsightly environment

The suggested improvements included looking at routes into and out of the carpark, including the possibility of restricting access through the alleyway to the rear of the Bat & Ball, improving the storage of commercial waste, and addressing the ‘hidden spaces’ in the carpark and loading bay areas which were seen as prone to misuse and seeing what can be done to improve the look and feel of the area.

To get a fuller picture of the situation, a short survey has been produced which is being delivered to residents and businesses on Oxford Street and around the perimeter of Oxford court carpark, and an online version has been placed below for anyone in the immediate arwa who would prefer this format, or anyone in the wider community wishing to comment

If you could complete the attached survey below, it would be appreciated.  If you have any questions about this, please contact me: simon.bannister@brighton-hove.gov.uk
