Another email was sent by us (1/4/15 17:48, following on from 27/1/15) confirming that a representation from Wetherspoons would be welcomed at the LAT and John Chapman (Wetherspoons – Acquisitions and Disposals) said in reply, by phone (1/4/15), that he was setting this in motion. The representative would probably come from Wetherspoon’s licensing department.
Mr Chapman was at pains to point out that he had been unable to communicate anything definite until such time as his company had obtained a legal interest in the property concerned. This had not been the case previously, but was the case now.
(N.B. Apparently it is not necessary to own a property prior to applying for planning permission http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/planning/applications/howtoapply/whocanapply)
